Music Box Series
This series of music box machines combines multiple music boxes into a single larger unit. Music Box Player Prototypes 1 & 2 manipulate two music boxes simultaneously. Music Box Player 9.0 joins together nine music boxes, playing together when it is hand cranked. The individual popular melodies of each music box combine into a new and haunting emergent melody, a music box quodlibet of sorts. Inspired by the old organ grinders of European towns and cities, Player 9.0 harks back to the mechanical age, one where your fate is spun out of the inevitable interactions of parts. It harbors secret powers as a hypnotic dream machine and must be used with care.
